Three-block linocut on Hosho paper

‘T’ is for ...

I had a number of ideas for this project, from singeing an image onto paper with a laser to inking and printing monotypes from manhole covers and street valves in situ. Eventually, I decided to do the printmaking thing I do best and enjoy most: woodcut/ linocut. I love the directness of the medium and the physicality of cutting into the matrix. The resulting three-color linocut is a page from an imaginary child’s alphabet book.
